Accessible Web Design

XHTML / CSS Conversion

I've tested oneskygate.net on the following browsers; IE 7.0, 6.02, Firefox 2.0, 1.5 and Opera 9.24. Many people simply don't have the time to go back and bring old pages into compliance. Which is where I come in handy. I've worked through the process of validating every single aspect of this site and can help you do the same for your site.

All my work complies with web standards that assure that it will be viewable in as many browsers as possible with "graceful degradation" occurring when that isn't possible.

Why is this important?

Many people with disabilities are unable to communicate without the assistance of computers. The use of code that doesn't allow special software to literally read the website to a blind person for instance, is more than annoying, it may actually be illegal. Fancy websites all over the Internet are crashing and suffering serious accessibility issues. With this in mind I proceed with caution when it comes to designing websites.

Does this mean my site has to be boring?

Certainly not! Using (x)html 1.0 strict and Cascading Style Sheets allows for separation of form from content which in turn allows the website to "degrade gracefully". If your browser doesn't support CSS the page is completely unstyled which will then be viewed as text only. For some examples of the flexibility of CSS check out this websites available themes. The page remains he same, only the CSS changes.
